Prof. Elisaveta Petrova - Pulmonologist
1973 - Prof. Elisaveta Petrova graduated in medicine from the Medical Academy, Sofia1979 - Aquired specialty "Pneumology and Phthisiatry"
1988 - Acquired a second specialty "Occupational diseases".
1988 - Defended a thesis to become “Doctor of Medicine” with the thesis: "Late forms of silicosis and silicotuberculosis"
In 2005, she received the scientific degree "Doctor of Medical Sciences" after defending a thesis "Dust occupational lung diseases from inorganic dusts".
Since 1974, she worked consecutively as a resident doctor in the Rheumocardiology Department at the Primary District Hospital, Blagoevgrad. In the period 1975–1979 is a clinical resident in the Institute of Pulmonary Diseases and in the internal clinics of the Sofia Medical Academy. In 1979 is a resident physician (2 months) at the Thoracic Clinic of the National Institute of Oncology, Sofia. Since 1979, she has been consecutively a resident doctor in the office of functional breathing research, Specialized TELK in occupational diseases; research assistant 2nd year in the pulmonary department, chief assistant (head of the sector and head of the pneumoconioses department), assistant professor 2nd year in the pulmonary department at the Clinic for Occupational Diseases, member and chairman of the Diagnostic - expert committee on occupational diseases. From 2002 to 2010, 5th grade, 2nd grade, professor and head of the Clinic for Occupational Diseases, "St. Ivan Rilski" University Medical Center, Sofia. From 01.12.2010 is the head of the "Preventive Medicine" sector at the Tokuda Medical Center, Sofia.
Author of over 250 scientific papers and manager of numerous scientific projects. Prof. Petrova is a long-time member of the "Bulgarian Scientific Society of Pulmonary Diseases", and since 2008 is the chairman of the newly formed Bulgarian Scientific Society of Occupational Diseases.
She is a member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). For 31 years, she has taught "Occupational Diseases" as an assistant, associate professor and professor in the Department of Occupational Diseases at Medical University-Sofia and for 9 years - English language training of foreign students at MU-Pleven and MU-Sofia. Since 2016, she has been a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine of SU "Kliment Ohridski".
